Mark Hodge, Executive Director of GBI, addressed the IBA Annual Conference on the role of In-house Lawyers in UNGPs implementation in practice on 5 October 2015. GBI’s interventions followed keynotes from the former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, and former UN Special Representative on Business and Human Rights, John Ruggie on their respective visions for operationalisation of the UNGPs. During the session, other panelists shared views on the role of lawyers in application of the UNGPs including Jeffrey Collins, from Chevron, a GBI member company, and Rae Lindsay from Clifford Chance LLP. GBI recently collaborated with Clifford Chance on a London based dialogue on access to remedy.
